Well figured I would introduce myself and say hello. I just move to the Seattle area and really have no idea where to go to meet people, so figured I would stop in here. So anyway, hello :)

Tue, February 14, 2006 - 7:16 AMHello Chris. What places do you already know about that are good for meeting people? -

Re: Just saying hi
Wed, February 15, 2006 - 8:38 AMI don't know anywhere to meet anyone around here. I know my neighborhood (well enough) and that is it. -

Re: Just saying hi
Sun, February 19, 2006 - 7:36 PMAddress is in Bellevue, but really in Redmond. My first visit to Seattle I went to this great bar, but have no idea where it is. Only thing that really stands out in my mind that could possibly describe the place, was what looked like blown glass flames on the top of the liquor rack. Wouldn't mind finding out where that bar is. -

Sun, February 19, 2006 - 10:09 PMWell you must know about Victors coffeehouse in Redmond at least! I can't think of the bar you are thinking of. What kind of music or atmosephere? That should narrow it down. :) -

Mon, February 20, 2006 - 10:50 AMActually I didn't know about Victors, but I do now. Just looked up the address and will check it out later today. As far as music and atmosphere... sheesh... I have the tattooed goth/punk side of me that likes industrial clubs and the yuppie 24 hour fitness side of me that likes yuppie dance clubs. I will say I'm much more the coffee shop kind of person though. Or speed chess in the park against someone with a green mohawk. But really, I'm up for just about anything, especially something I haven't done yet, which can get difficult. -

Mon, February 20, 2006 - 2:45 PMOh you're like me. I like slummin' it in Kirkland and then hitting up the Bad Juju or the Vogue every now and then.
I have yet to go to Valhalla in Rose Hill. I hear it's quite the "meet" market so that could be entertaining.
I don't like the Shark or TJ's very much. Tiki Bob's Wet Bar is fun. In Redmond I like Celtic Bayou, and some crappy bar I can never remember the name of by the craft store. NW Brew Pub is good and...it's right across the street from Victors! -

Re: Just saying hi
Mon, February 20, 2006 - 2:52 PMWell I went by Victors, nice place and all and warmed me up very quickly, me being Irish and all. Well, Irish decent at least. Damn I wish I had a sexy accent. The thing that turned me off to it, they don't accept credit or atm. Now I NEVER carry cash on me, what's the point? Everyone takes the card... well except Victors. So... nice place and I liked it, but won't catch me in there very often, I won't be able to buy anything.
I have a love hate relationship with clubs, bars, etc. I enjoy them, but I really never hit on anyone while I am there. I figure no matter how I do it, I'm just going to end up being "another guy" hitting on someone. Besides, I like conversation and it can be a little hard to hear anyone else in a place like that. So if I do go "out" it's usually just to dance. Besides, if I go somewhere with the hopes of meeting someone, and I do, then the whole night is ruined. If I just go out to dance and have fun, then it's a fun night. If I do end up meeting someone, well, big bonus. -

Thu, August 24, 2006 - 7:52 PMHI back!
New in town too!
so, do you seattle folks have any tips for meeting people that don't include typing sarcastic messages or beer breath? all my new neighbors in queen anne are lovely, but they're all women. I am looking for that nerdy, cool framed, fleece wearing outdoorsy type who likes to hang out more in REI, than talk about his DUI. Ya know?
